KPL Receives Kountze EDC Grant
Kountze Economic Development Corporation presented a grant of $2,500 to Kountze Public Library on June 6, 2017. The award that is given annually, will be used for library projects, including the purchase of books, AV materials and digital content for library patrons.
The Friends of Kountze Public Library have received 4 grants from the ExxonMobil Foundation in 2016,  totaling $2,000. The grants were received on behalf of Marilyn and Jerry Cox for volunteer hours Marilyn has worked at the library. Marilyn and her husband Jerry, an ExxonMobil retiree, participate in the Volunteer Involvement Program. The program "seeks to encourage employees, retirees and other eligible participants to actively contribute their time and talent to charitable organizations by providing contributions on their behalf."  ExxonMobil grant funds are used to support various projects that benefit the library. Friends recently funded the replacement of a staff computer.
Our thanks to ExxonMobil and to Marilyn & Jerry Cox for their support of Kountze Public Library.
