Kountze Public Library is happy to present the annual Summer Reading Program, sponsored by Texas State Library, the Woman's Club of Kountze and Friends of Kountze Public Library. We welcome you and your child to this summer's exciting events. The aim of the Reading Program is to encourage kids to read & enjoy books during the summer months.

 

2011 GUIDELINES

Kids are encouraged to pre-register at the library beginning Tuesday, May 23. When children register, they will  receive a reading log on which they or their parents can list titles of the books they read. Please leave logs at the library so that certificates can be completed for kids who read 10 or more books (or in the case of kids who cannot read yet, have 10 books read to them). During Reading Club kids may check out 5 books at a time. When those are returned, 5 more may be checked out. The last day for writing titles onto the logs is June 27 before 5PM. All logs must be turned in to library staff by 5PM. Certificates will be given on June 28, the last day of Reading Club. There will be only one program that day beginning at 10AM. 
     Books available at home which are appropriate to age & grade level may be read & counted also.  

Reading Club Schedule:
Pre-registration Begins May 23
June 7 Niesy & Crush at 10AM & 1PM
June 14 Neil & Mary at 10AM & 1PM
June 21 "Miss" Jo Ann at 10AM & 1PM
June 28 Certificate Day --One program only at 10AM with a guest presenter from 
Big Thicket Nat'l. Preserve
