Summer Reading Club 2008 will begin Tuesday June 10 with 2 programs--one at 10:00AM
and one at 1:00PM. Other programs will be June 17 and June 24 with 2 programs on
those days. The last program will be July 1 with only one program at
10:00AM. We
are looking forward to another great summer of reading adventure. All kids are
invited to attend the fun programs that will begin with special presenter
Traci Turner. Traci is the Story Time lady for the library. On June 17, Raymond
Eastman, Jr. will return with his most requested marionette show for the 50th
year Jubilee celebration of Texas Summer Reading Club. "Clowning
Around Trick Marionettes" is a surprise filled show and is appropriate for
youngsters ages 3 and up and their families. In order to seat as many as
possible, two performances will be held--one at 10AM & one at 1PM. Please
call the library in advance to schedule the best time for you to attend.
Presenter for June 24 will be Mele Langston, KISD teacher. On July 1, Mrs. Jo Ann Dixon has an exciting program
planned to wrap up Reading Club. On that day, there will only be one show beginning at 10AM, kids who have
read 10 or more books will be given certificates. Pre-registration will
begin May 27 at the library. Kids will receive a reading log that is to remain
at the library. Book titles read should be recorded on the logs by kids or their
parents. Kids who sign up will receive a free tee-shirt as long as supplies
last. Please note that the library cannot do special orders for tee-shirts.

Summer Reading Continues with the KFDM/CW READING CLUB
in July!
Kids
are invited to join in the KFDM/The CW’s annual Summer Reading
Club at Kountze Public Library during the months of July and August.
Approximately 2,000 students all over Southeast Texas participate over the
course of the summer. The rules are simple.
Kids who read 4 books enter the titles onto a bookmark obtained from the
library. The bookmark is placed into a box for a prize drawing, held each
Tuesday from July 2 through August 26.
Participants
only need to enter once a week to be eligible for prizes.
